Rude Customers!

Rude customers just ruin your whole day at work. Today, I had to work the opening shift since one of our normal openers had to go to a funeral and the other has kidney stones. In the six hours I was there, I was pissed off with two of the customers.

To start off, my manager was making a man’s sub and he starts barking everything he wants besides his two subs. She told him that he would have to tell the cashier (me). When he gets to cash, he just excepts me to know everything he wants...I am not a mind reader; if I was, I wouldn’t be working at Subway...I would have show in Vegas. Then I get all his stuff all packed up to go and he tells me, “It’s for here.” Then he came back complaining on how messy his sub was...that’s what happens when you get like 50 sauces on it! And to top it all off, he did not clear his table before his left. Are people that goddamn lazy that they can’t take their stuff to the garbage?

The second customer complained about rounding. In Canada, we no longer have the penny so prices are rounded to the nearest 5; most stores only do it for cash but at Subway we do it for both cash and debit or else it offsets out numbers. The woman complained about paying $5.35 instead of $5.33 and I explained it to her. She was really pissed off so I got my manager and she told the woman exactly what I told her. She paid for the sub and left in a huff.

I don’t understand why customers are so rude. I work there, I have no choice whether I come into work or not but they have a choice whether or not to come in. If you don’t want to be there, please don’t come there. If you are having a bad day, please don’t take it out on me...it just makes me feel bad; I have feelings too.
